Screen Printing

We print for bands, small businesses, nonprofits, queer organizations, drag performers, restaurants, artists, collectives, sports teams, and basically anyone who gives a sh*t about what they're making (unless you're a nazi or something, then you're not welcome here.)

We manually screen print everything, by hand, and we can print on basically anything that can hold ink. We love a challenge, want a weird placement? Want a huge print? Want something no one else wants to do ?? We got you boo.

Whether it's a run of 24 tees for your besties or a few hundred hoodies for your merch line, we'd love to work with you.

If you've never ordered custom printing before - Hiiii and welcome. We will walk you through every step. No stupid questions.

We look forward to working with you.

Water Based Ink

WHY WATER BASED INK?

There are two main types of ink in screen printing: plastisol and water-based. Most shops use plastisol. We don't (and we're not just being different for the sake of being different).

Plastisol is a PVC-based ink. It sits on top of the fabric like a layer of plastic,  because that's essentially what it is. It's the thick, rubbery print you can feel with your fingers when you run your hand across a shirt. Over time it cracks, peels, and fades. Every time you wash a plastisol-printed garment, it releases microplastics into the water (gross).

The production side isn't great either - plastisol requires chemical solvents to clean screens and equipment, and those cleaners are toxic - which means they're bad for the water table and the enviroment when they go down the drain, and apparently, they're bad for the person using them, but we only think about drinking them every time we're overwhelmed.)

Water-based ink is exactly what it sounds like - the carrier is water, not PVC. Instead of sitting on top of the fabric, the pigment absorbs into the fibre and becomes part of the garment. You can barely feel it. The print moves with the fabric, breathes with the fabric, and softens with every wash instead of cracking. It's the difference between a sticker on a shirt and a shirt that was born with the design IN it.

The environmental difference goes beyond just the ink on the garment. Our cleanup uses water - not petroleum-based solvents, not harsh chemicals. Our screens get washed out with water. Our tools get cleaned with water. The air in our studio doesn't smell like a chemical plant. Nobody is getting high on fumes while they work (sometimes unfortunately).

The tradeoff is that water-based ink is genuinely harder to print with. It dries faster on the screen, so you can't go side questing mid-run. It requires more control over temperature, humidity, and timing. The ink itself costs more. The learning curve is steeper and it's less forgiving of mistakes. That's why most shops don't bother - plastisol is cheaper, easier, and good enough.

We don't think good enough is good enough. We'd rather do it the hard way and hand you something that feels good, lasts longer, and didn't poison anyone or anything in the making.

What We Print On

T-shirts, hoodies, crewnecks, long sleeves, tank tops, tote bags, patches, posters, bandanas. We print on cotton and cotton blends - water-based ink works best on natural fibres.

Popular brands are Bella+Canvas, Gildan, Next Level, and Comfort Colors, but we can work with most fabric-based items.

If it's flat and it holds ink, we can probably print on it.

Standard Blanks

We recommend blanks based on your budget and what prints well with water-based ink. You see what the blank costs and what our markup is. Premium brands available on request.

Bring Your Own Blanks

You source the garments, we print on them. They need to arrive washed, sorted by size, and labelled. $1.50/piece handling fee.

If we have to sort, wash, label etc. we will increase the handling fee /piece up to $7.

Reclaimed + deadstock

We source secondhand and deadstock garments when available. Your run won't be perfectly uniform - different brands, different fits, and therefor, expect imperfect but one of a kind. Every piece is unique and nothing new gets manufactured. Availability varies.

HOW THIS ACTUALLY WORKS

Tell us what you need. Fill out the quote form or send us an email. What are you printing? How many? How many colours? Do you have artwork? When do you need it? Tell us everything, all your weird ideas are welcome.

Then, we send you a quote. Fixed price, broken down line by line so you can see what you're paying for. Payment in full before production begins (sorry not sorry).

We proof it. You get a digital mockup showing your design on the garment - placement, colour, sizing. Nothing gets printed until you approve it. (Mock ups are NOT AI, we make sometimes questionable photoshop mockups)

Then - the fun part: we print it. Every piece printed and inspected by hand.

You pick it up or we ship it. Local pickup from 196 Parkdale Ave N is free. Shipping anywhere in Canada and the US - quoted at order time.

Standard turnaround is 10–15 business days from proof approval. Rush is available - just ask.

Artwork

Vector files preferred - .ai, .eps, .pdf, .svg.

Raster at 300 DPI minimum, .png format.

We can mix to Pantone if you need exact colour matching.

If your artwork isn't print-ready, we'll tell you what it needs.

If you don't have artwork at all, we do graphic design too. Send us what you've got - even if it's a drunk napkin doodle, we'll figure it out.

FAQ

  • 24 pieces per design (multiple color designs may have a higher minimum)

Why do we have the minimum? To make a screen, then print the design it usually takes about 2 days, at least a few hours and a comical amount of equipment.

  • It's better, for you to wear and feel when you rub it all over your body. It lasts longer. It improves with time, versus cracking and peeling. It doesn't destroy the enviroment when we make it, or when you wash it.

& yeah, we know, one shirt isn't going to save the world, but we think each choice - matters.

  • Yes. We can mix to any uncoated or coated Pantone color.
